Vacation House, Peloponnese
Aegean view vacation house
Boundaries blur between the interior and the exterior as the space maintains continuous views of the Aegean Sea.
The clients’ brief called for a space in which to unwind, during the summer and on weekends, alone and with friends, with fluid unimpeded movement between indoor and outdoor spaces.
It was also important for us to incorporate the clients’ passion for and collection of modern art, as part of the interior design brief. We worked collaboratively to create unique, contemporary furniture for the space.
The materials complement the local vernacular, creating a sense of comfort and harmony throughout.
Using local stone extracted during the excavations of the property’s foundations,it is truly built from the landscape.
We worked holistically with the uneven ground of the site, by splitting the design across multiple levels, which also serves to differentiate and separate shared and private spaces.
Externally, the house is surrounded by native vegetation and sits on a rugged, sea-beaten shore.
